Much of Colorado is mountainous, including the Rocky Mountains. This can lead to a wide range of temperatures. While most U.S. cities list the population on their city signs, those in Colorado usually list the elevation.
Pueblo
Pueblo is south of Denver. I spent some time visiting Lake Pueblo State Park. Lake Pueblo is a fishing hot spot and has a variety of water recreation activities. There are also hiking trails and campsites.
Pueblo
Pueblo has a lovely Riverwalk along the Arkansas River in the heart of the historic downtown. This sculpture of a Lakota woman is called "Walks Among Stars" and was sculpted in bronze by Dave McGary. The woman is displaying her star quilt.
Red Rocks Park
Red Rocks Park unsurprisingly has reddish rocks. The park includes an amphitheater which holds concerts because of its natural acoustic surroundings. There are also many hiking trails where you can view the interesting rock formations.
Steamboat Springs
This momma moose took her time strolling across a road in Steamboat Springs. She crossed and kept going, leaving a younger moose on the other side of the road.
Steamboat Springs
I did some shopping in downtown Steamboat. There are many cute little shops, a nice break from seeing chain shops everywhere. It's awesome to see the mountains as backdrop to the town buildings.
